best musical moments in movies: #100 - THE WORK SONG from CINDERELLA (1950)

Long ago (okay last summer), I compiled a list of my favorite musical moments in movies, and I've decided to share them with you all. At the time I spliced them all together into a massive AFI-style clip show extravaganza for a bunch of my friends - but you're going to get the chopped up version. As far as what qualifies as "musical moments" for my list, they are scenes in movies in which music plays a pivotal role and is interacted with in some way by the characters (so background score doesn't count, folks). Hopefully you'll enjoy:

You sir are an ambitious man, tackling many lists all at the same time. However I can't complain for I enjoy them too much.

You are ambitious, but I don't like this scene. I don't really like any of the musical scenes although Cinderella singing Sweet Nightingale with the bubbles is visually delightful and "So This is Love" is lovely.

This is a bit off topic, but a cousin of mine had the special edition DVD and there were two cut songs (along with drawings) that were better than the actual score. "Cinderella's Work Song" and "Dancing On A Cloud".

I've tagged you in a movie meme, so get to work (or not).

Simon & Mike: Glad to hear it - because I tend to obsess with lists - hope it's not too tiresome for you all!

Andrew: Ah yes... I assumed with a list like this that I was opening myself up to loads of criticism. Hopefully it will serve as a good conversation piece if nothing else! :)
